social value

Panter Hudspith currently run an outreach programme that is designed to help young people into employment within the profession, we do this in conjunction with our clients, consultants and contractors. Below is a small selection of the current initiatives:

Work Experience, RIBA Part I & II:
We typically take students between 16-18 years old in full time education for a one or two-week placement, which provides a hands-on introduction to the work of the practice and that of an architect’s office in general. We provide longer term placements for RIBA Part 1 and 2 graduates as part of their ongoing professional development.

Architecture Ambassadors:
We have recently taken part in the RIBA Architecture Ambassadors programme (as shown in the photographs to the left), partnering with a secondary school to carry out a week-long project with Year 7 students. This involved a walking architectural tour of the City of London and the Serpentine Pavilion alongside practical workshops in the classroom teaching both 3d and physical model making skills to enable the pupils to realise their designs.

Working with Universities:
Several staff members take part in university moderation and reviews supporting students through their architecture courses.

Most of all – we are an active part of our own local community – having been based in Southwark since the practice’s inception – we live, work, and play in the borough and contribute to its many local initiatives.
